Fusion Now Partners with Next Generation in Trucking Foundation to Revolutionize Education with Video Curriculum

post-header

Fusion Now is excited to announce our partnership with the Next Generation in Trucking Foundation to bring a revolutionary video curriculum to high school CDL education programs.

The Next Generation in Trucking Foundation secured a generous grant of $127,760 from Knorr-Bremse Global Care North America. This grant will be used to develop a standardized truck driving curriculum that will be made available to high schools offering truck driver training programs, free of charge, by the Next Generation in Trucking Association (NGT). This initiative aims to revolutionize the trucking industry and pave the way for the next generation of skilled truck drivers.

The Next Generation in Trucking Foundation is a nonprofit organization that works to educate and mentor the next generation of truck drivers, while also promoting safety and professionalism in the industry. The partnership with Fusion Now will allow the foundation to provide high-quality, engaging video content to high school students interested in pursuing a career in trucking.

We are excited because we wanted to provide a consistent high school training program for the next generation of professional drivers. So many other industries have high school programs in place.

Our goal is to ensure that trucking training programs are available in Career Technical Education (CTE). There is an ever-shrinking pool of potential drivers, and every industry vies for visibility.

Creating this keeps transportation in the career-opportunity game. We do it because trucking elevates young people’s lives and offers upward mobility.

The video curriculum will cover a wide range of truck driver fitness topics, including nutrition, suggested workouts, and best practices for maintaining your overall health while driving commercial vehicles. The content will be presented in an engaging and interactive way, using state-of-the-art technology to provide an immersive learning experience for students.

Dr. Mark Manera, founder and CEO of Supply Chain Fitness, created the curriculum for this program, which will support standards and career pathways in the transportation industry. This initiative is aimed at creating a skilled workforce to meet the demands of the industry and drive its growth.

The Next Generation in Trucking Association (NGT) received the grant to develop a national online modular high school curriculum for commercial learner’s permit and entry-level driver training (ELDT) standards program. This one-year program will be tested and developed in the field to ensure optimal effectiveness.

These modules will prepare high school students nationwide to pass the driving test with an experiential and inquiry-based online course designed for teachers. Available in face-to-face, blended, and virtual formats, the curriculum is set to launch in September 2023.

The program creates career pathways into vital areas of transportation and logistics, providing much-needed assistance to the trucking industry. Upon program completion, the foundation even helps students find employment in intrastate jobs until they qualify for interstate driving or join a carrier in the Safe Driver Apprenticeship Pilot Program. NGT is now partnering with companies to create pathways leading to interstate driving careers for 18-, 19-, and 20-year-olds.
